Four Friends Turned A Private Mastermind Into A Book Deal

Learn how personal and professional bonds of friendship led to an incredibly successful collaboration.

One of the problems facing any entrepreneur with a good idea is the time it takes to plan and execute that idea. Whether it’s a new business or a project, working alone is a sometimes insurmountable challenge.

And that was the exact problem facing Stephanie Liu, Jenn Herman and Mike Allton.

Individually, they’d each dreamed of having their own paid membership group and, individually, they’d never been able to find the time. Then one day it occurred to them that if they worked together, if they collaborated, they’d find success. The three of them brought in a fourth expert, Amanda Robinson, and formed the 360 Marketing Squad.

Leveraging their unique and complimentary marketing prowess, they formed a successful paid membership group and then, within a couple years, leveraged that expertise and authority to sign a book deal with Entrepreneur Press to write Ultimate Guide to Social Media Marketing with Eric Butow.

“While the membership group and book are fantastic, the ultimate benefit to this collaboration – the outcome I’m most proud of and grateful for – is the personal and professional bond that the four of us have formed,” said co-author and co-founder, Mike Allton. “Through our personal mastermind group, we’ve given each other an unparalleled level of support and encouragement that the book itself is a testament to. We hope that business owners and social media managers are helped by all of the strategy and information we poured into that book but, more importantly, use the project to be inspired to connect and collaborate with peers of their own.”

Jenn Herman is a social media consultant, speaker, and globally recognized Instagram expert. Stephanie Liu is one of the most sought-after international speakers on live video, known for her dynamic stage presence and cutting-edge Facebook engagement tactics. Amanda Robinson is the founder of The Digital Gal where she is widely sought after in the digital marketing industry for her knowledge and experience as a Facebook Ads expert. Mike Allton is an award-winning Blogger, Speaker, and Author at The Social Media Hat, and Brand Evangelist at Agorapulse. Eric Butow is the CEO of Butow Communications Group (BCG), an online marketing ROI improvement firm.

These social media marketing experts team up to take readers through a 360-degree view of social media marketing from strategy to tactics, from organic to paid, from B2B to B2C, encompassing all of the current social media networks from Facebook and LinkedIn to emerging platforms like Snapchat and TikTok.

How To Prepare Your Marketing Strategy

EPISODE 3. AIR DATE: Friday, November 16, 2018

Whether you make plans based on calendar year or just want to think ahead, having a proper marketing strategy in place is an essential part of your business success.

Think of it like planning a vacation. You need to decide where you’re going to go and how long you’re going to stay there. You will need to buy plane tickets and make a hotel reservation. And some of you may cover your desk in post it notes with specific things to do.

You create the overall plan and the structure that’s needed for the vacation to be a success, then allow yourself to have a great time while you’re there.

Imagine if, however, instead of booking a hotel room, you simply decided to show up in Aspen one weekend. Would you be able to stay at the hotel you wanted? Probably not. And you’d waste a lot of time trying to find a room while you were supposed to be relaxing.

Social Media Marketing is the same way. Being flexible and timely and posting ‘in the moment’ are all great things. But without a strategy in place, you’ll waste a lot of time trying to figure out what to say, where, when you’re supposed to be executing and driving engagement.

That’s where the 360 Marketing Squad can help! Based on years of experience, Jenn Herman, Stephanie Liu, Amanda Robinson and Mike Allton are going to share with you their best practices and forward-thinking advice.

IN THIS EPISODE YOU WILL LEARN:

  1. Where to start your Marketing Strategy planning
  2. The key elements of a successful Marketing Strategy
  3. Pitfalls to avoid
  4. Great tools or techniques to use
